# Connect n8n

> Install the Bannerify community node and generate images or PDFs.

Use n8n when you want a self-hosted or visual workflow that can transform data before sending it to Bannerify.

## Node operations

* **Create Image** generates a hosted image URL.
* **Create PDF** generates a hosted PDF URL.

## Prerequisites

* A Bannerify project API key.
* A saved Bannerify template.
* An n8n workflow trigger that provides your template data.

## Install the community node

Install `n8n-nodes-bannerify` from the n8n community nodes screen, then add your Bannerify project API key in the credential setup.

For self-hosted n8n, you can also install the package from npm:

```bash theme={null}
npm install n8n-nodes-bannerify
```

## Render a file

1. Add a trigger such as **Webhook**, **Google Sheets**, **Airtable**, or a form integration.
2. Add **Bannerify → Create Image** or **Bannerify → Create PDF**.
3. Map trigger data into `Modifications JSON`.
4. Use the returned URL in the next node.

## Recipe: Tally form to PDF

1. Trigger from **Webhook** or Tally's n8n integration.
2. Add **Bannerify → Create PDF**.
3. Map form answers into `Modifications JSON`. The field accepts object shorthand or the API array format.
4. Add **Google Drive → Upload** or **Email → Send** with the returned URL.
