# USAGE_EXCEEDED

> USAGE_EXCEEDED means your workspace reached its daily or monthly generation limit. The API sends status 500. Wait for the reset, or upgrade your plan.

## Problem

Your workspace reached its generation limit. The API sends status 500, and the message names the limit, for example `You have exceeded your monthly usage limit (100)` or `You have exceeded your daily usage limit (10)`.

A team workspace on the Free plan has a limit of 0, so every generation fails with this code until you upgrade.

## Solution

Wait for the limit to reset, or upgrade. The daily limit resets at 00:00 UTC, and the monthly limit resets on the first day of each UTC month. **Billing & Usage** shows how many generations you used.
